I don't find any information about this family. Does anyone else have any
information about Dr. HILDRETH's CARLOCK ancestors?

Subject: Looking for my Grandfather
Sue,
I hope you may be able to shed light on a sketchy family history.
Briefly, my father's mother was Adelaide (Dolly) Dixon Carlock Lockwood.
My older siblings refer to her as granny Carlock. She was a school
teacher in St. Louis Mo. around the early 1900s. She may have been
married to a Mr. Carlock around 1908 when my father was born to her.
Some family turmoil ensued and she gave my father Fred Kemp Carlock to
be adopted by her cousin Adelaide Dixon Hildreth who lived in or near
Saybrook or Melvin, Illinois. Apparently Adelaide was a popular name
for the Dixons. Long and short of it, my father never met his natural
father and looked for him until he passed on a number of years ago. I
have found the Hildreth lineage but of course am very interested in my
natural family's genealogy. Anything would be appreciated greatly.
Thanks in advance,
Mike Hildreth
