Thank you for your reply to my earlier posting. This has helped me confirm
that Major William Harrison PITTS (1815 - 1898), founder of Pittsburg, Camp
Co., TX, is indeed the same person as the William Harrison PITTS who married
Julia F. REYNOLDS CARLOCK (1834 - 1899), widow of Samuel (or Simon) Green
CARLOCK (1832 - 1862).
It appears that Julia is not buried in the PITTS cemetery with her second
husband Major William Harrison PITTS. I obtained her death date from page
617 of the book "History of the Carlock Family," by Marion Pomeroy CARLOCK,
1929, and have not yet been able to determine where she was buried.
Julia's first husband, Samuel (or Simon) Green CARLOCK, was wounded at the
Battle of Oak Hill, Missouri, also known as "Wilson's Creek." I also have
not yet determined where he is buried.
