Alicia:
A check of the northwestern corner of the "South-Eastern" Texas map at the
following site shows that Johnson Co., TX, where your ancestor John Robert
CARLOCK (s/o George Washington CARLOCK/CEARLOCK, possibly John CARLOCK,
Lemuel CARLOCK, Hanchrist CARLOCK, David GERLACH/CARLOCK, Hans GERLACH)
migrated by 1867, is just two counties away from Comanche Co., TX, where
Marion CARLOCK died in 1882, at age 11. Page 441 of "History of the Carlock
Family" lists John as having a son named Marion Francis CARLOCK, b. May 14,
1880. I have no further information about John's son Marion. John's eldest
known child was born in 1867.

John's brother Luther Carel/Carol CARLOCK/CEARLOCK, also migrated to Texas
by ca. 1871, settling in Cooke Co., TX, three counties north of Johnson Co.,
TX, on the Oklahoma border. (See the "Northern" Texas map at the
above-mentioned site.) His known male descendants spelled their surname
either "CEARLOCK" or "CURLOCK." Page 439 of "History of the
Carlock Family"
lists Luther as living in Johnson Co., TX.
John's brother William Thomas CARLOCK/CARELOCK, b. 1839, also appears to
have migrated to Johnson Co., TX, where he died in 1926. One son, Virgil
Denton CARLOCK, b. 1871, is mentioned on pages 441 and 443 of "History of
the Carlock Family."
According to pages 439 and 440 of "History of the Carlock Family," John,
Luther, and William's half-brother James Henry CARLOCK, b. 1850, also lived
in Johnson Co., TX. James married, but I have no information at this time
about possible descendants.
Please let me know if you ever find a connection between your branch of the
CARLOCK family and Marion CARLOCK who d. 1882, near Comanche, Comanche Co.,
TX. As mentioned in my earlier posting to the CARLOCK list, at this time I
do not yet know the name of the cemetery where Marion CARLOCK was buried.
