Susan asked about the ancestry to Dicy Emaline Carlock
b.c. 1821
d. Reynolds Co., MO after 1880
m. Jacob Voyles
I have the following that may help with both NC, KY and MO connections:
In Mecklenburg Co., NC:
1779: May 29, GEORGE KERLOCK entered 150 acres in Mecklenburg Co./,
NC, on Hambys Branch, bordered by Peter Rese, Jacob Shoffner and THOMAS
VOYLES. Warrant issued, #641. [Citation: Mecklenburg Co., NC, Land
Entries 1778-1795, pg. 53]
1794: Jan. 9, 1794, Item 1:85, Phillip Lydecker and wife Rosina sold
to John Voyles for 42.10, 66 acres on the waters of Coldwater Creek
joining William Townsend, James McGraw, and FREDERICK CARLOCK,
originally a State Grant dated 20 Dec. 1790 to Phillip Lydecker (alias
Lybecker). Wit. William McGraw. Jurst Thomas Voyles. Proven April
Session 1794. [Citation: op cit, pg. 44]
I understand that the father of your Jacob Voyles is John Voyles b.
1750 Wales, d. Greenville Co., SC. And Jacob Voyles was b. 1790
Lancaster or Greenville Co., SC, and d. 1/21/1861 in Montgomery Co.,
IL.
RE. Missouri (Reynolds & Stoddard Co. close to eachother):
My William Vance Carlock
b.c. 1797 prob. Mecklenburg Co., NC
d.c. 1839 Stoddard Co., MO
m. Frances "Fannie" Unknown c. 1823
b. 1801 NC
d. After 1870 Wayne Co., MO
ch:
Emmaline Susanna Carlock
b. 1824 Cape Girardeau/Stoddard Co., MO
d. 1859 Stoddard Co., MO
m. Starling Wills
Finally, it is my understanding that Dicey Emmaline is the dtr of:
John Carlock
b. 10/01/1772 NC or VA
d. 2/4/1833 Simpson Co., KY
m. Elizabeth c. 1798
Does this help at all?
Katheryn
