QUANAH - Dr. Charles Vincent Hobbs, 83, died Thursday, March 1, 2001, in Edmond, Okla.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Greg
Kennedy, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Chillicothe Cemetery at Chillicothe by
Price-Jackson Funeral Home.
Dr. Hobbs was born in Jaroso, Colo. A graduate of Texas Tech University and Baylor
College of Dentistry, he was a dentist for the Army Air Corps during World War II and
started a practice in Quanah after the war. In Quanah, he was a member of Masonic Lodge
No. 689 AF&AM, Rotary Club and Lions Club. He was past president of Quanah
Independent School District board and Texas State Dental Association. He was a member of
First United Methodist Church and Fellowship Sunday School Class.
He married Virginia Carlock in 1938 at Chillicothe.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Chuck Hobbs of Greenville and Edward Hobbs of San
Antonio; a daughter, Susan Kimball of Edmond; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials be to First United Methodist Church.
