I think it is highly unlikely that these spellings could be connected with the CARLOCK
family since we have already identified the German spelling of this surname as GERLACH and
I have seen no references to any members of this family having been Mennonites. To the
contrary, at least one of our immigrant CARLOCK ancestors was involved with the American
Revolutionary War, which Mennonites would not have done.

available in an English translation from the French to the mailing
list. It looks reasonable to me. Maybe you might want to start
tracking down the available family history of Gerrig, Kerick, Kaik,
and Kerique....?
