This is in reply to the following message I received from Bill DAVENPORT
(davenport(a)brooksdata.net) today with regard to the availability of the book "History
of the Carlock Family", by Marion Pomeroy CARLOCK, 1929. A great deal of discussion
on this subject can be found in the archives of the CARLOCK list through the following
URL:
http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/surname/c/carlock.html. Following are copies of two
of those postings.
I agree with you that there are probably many errors in the book and that it should only
be used as a guide. I have already found numerous typographical errors.

Subject: Site for comparing book prices
One of the subscribers to the CARLOCK and CEARLOCK lists was kind enough to tell me about
the following site which searches the holdings of several book dealers, allowing you to
compare price, shipping costs, etc.:
www.addall.com. The cheapest price I just found for
the book "History of the Carlock Family", by Marion Pomeroy CARLOCK, 1929,
through this site was a used copy through a source called "Classbook". The cost
was $78.10, plus shipping cost of about $4.95, bringing the total cost to about $83.05.

Susan, is that Carlock book available for sale anyplace?
Also, it has been my experience that any genealogical book has some errors.
I think they are wonderful guides but they may not be totally accurate.
