I just ran into this while going through the archives of the "William & Mary
Quarterly." Don't send me any questions. It's just something I noticed and
copied for whoever would like to see it.

Garlick. There is a beautiful silver bowl, now owned by Mrs. John B. Minor, of the
University of Virginia (nee Miss Ellen Hill), of which I have a photograph from one side.
It bears on the rim a bird pecking at a leek, and on the side the words: "The gift of
Edward Garlick Senr Esqr to the Eldest Branch of His Family." I am told that there
is
a drawing of the arms on the other side of the bowl, but I have no description.
