This is a follow-up to my posting yesterday. I think I have located this family on the
1880 census for Parker Co., TX, which is located about halfway between Kaufman Co. and
Jones Co., all in the northern part of the state. "Louisa" looks like
"Lavina" or "Lavira" on the 1880 census. Among William and
Louisa's children was a daughter Margrette who is probably the Maggie I mentioned
before as living in the same household with Charles CARLOCK on the 1910 census for Kaufman
Co., TX. A possible explanation for William being buried in the Texas State Cemetery in
Austin is that he could have been living in the Confederate Soldiers' Home in Austin
prior to his death.
Now I just need to determine the names of William V. CARLOCK's (b. 1833, MO) parents
so that I can connect him to the rest of the CARLOCK family tree.
