Johann Christian Gerlach landed in New York June 10, 1710 with his wife
Anna Margaretha, and 3 of his sons, Theobald 10, Johann Balthasar 3 ,
and Elias (age under 10) aboard the

Elizabeth, with Captain Henry Gravener and 231 passengers, having
departed from London. He was the listmaster of the ship.
Seven years later, he was living with his wife Anna Marie Margaretha and
three children, along with 13 or more other families,

which he was evidently the head.
His wife did not die at St. Catherine's in London in 1709. Nor did she
die anywhere in 1712. She was alive at Gerlachsdorf in 1717. This does
not affect the supposed marriage with Indian Maiden Doctor, the first
birth for which a date is assumed to be known being 1724. It DOES affect
the supposed marriage with Indian Maiden Doctor to the extent that it
couldn't have occurred abt 1710. Perhaps if the Indian Maiden Doctor
story is true, she is the oft listed marriage with an Anna or Margaret
abt 1723. This could make sense if their first child was John "Hans"
Christian Garlock born April 3, 1724.
