This is in reply to Sharon MCLAUGHLIN's (smclaughlin(a)suddenlink.net)
posting to the RootsWeb CARLOCK mailing list earlier today titled
"William Carlock.:"
Following is the information, including sources, that I have so far for
the family of William CARLOCK and Martha WILLIAMS:
WILLIAM CARLOCK (JOHN, GEORGE CARLOCK/KERLOCK/CERLAUGH, FREDERICK
(POSSIBLY CORNELIUS) CARLOCK/CARELOCK, DAVID GERLACH/CARLOCK, HANS PETER
GERLOCH/GERLACH) was born in possibly NC. He married MARTHA WILLIAMS 27
Feb 1823 in Franklin Co., MS. She was born in possibly NC. MARTHA
married #2 JOHN NORRIS, 26 Mar 1834.
Children of WILLIAM CARLOCK and MARTHA WILLIAMS are:
i. POSSIBLY ZACHARIAH "ZACK" CARLOCK, b. Abt.
1828, MS; d. Abt. 1881; m. (1) ELIZABETH "BETSEY" WHITTINGTON, 09 Jul
1866, Amite Co., MS; b. Abt. 1841, MS; m. (2) MARTHA JANE MITCHELL, 22
Mar 1877, Franklin Co., MS; b. Abt. 1857.
ii. POSSIBLY JAMES A. CARLOCK, b. 1836, MS; d.
1872; bd. on William Alonzo PYRON lot, Flat Creek (aka "Fountain Hill")
Cemetery, White Township, Ashley Co., AR ; m. SUSAN POSSIBLY SHELL; b.
Abt. 1845, GA. (If Martha WILLIAMS CARLOCK married John NORRIS in 1834,
either James's birthdate of 1836 is incorrect, the marriage date is
incorrect, or James is not the son of William and Martha. Can anyone
clarify this mystery?)

Yes, I do show the above-mentioned William CARLOCK to be a brother of
Joseph CARLOCK who married Priscilla MIDDLETON.
Following is the information, including sources, that I have for the
family of William's father John CARLOCK:

CORNELIUS) CARLOCK/CARELOCK, DAVID GERLACH/CARLOCK, HANS PETER
GERLOCH/GERLACH) was born Abt. 1768 in NC. He married WILHELMINA. She
probably died before the time of the 1820 census.
Children of JOHN CARLOCK and WILHELMINA are:
i. MARGARET (OR MARTHA) CARLOCK, m. (1) POSSIBLY
NORRIS; m. (2) WILLIAM B. PATTERSON, 01 Sep 1836, Franklin Co., MS.
ii. WILLIAM CARLOCK, b. possibly NC; m. MARTHA

v. PROBABLY ELIZABETH CARLOCK, b. 1810, TN; m.
JOHN RHODES "JACK" PARKER, 19 Mar 1835, Franklin Co., MS.
vi. UNKNOWN CARLOCK., ancestor of HENRY C.CARLOCK
(b. 5 Jun 1852, MS) who m. SARAH CARLOCK (b. ca. 1847, MS), 10 Nov 1870,
Franklin Co., MS. Henry and Sarah appear on the 1910 United States
Federal Census, for Meadville, Franklin Co., MS. (I have not yet been
able to identify Sarah's ancestry. Can anyone identify the names of
Sarah CARLOCK's parents?)

Subject: [CARLOCK] William Carlock
I am looking for info on William Carlock who married Martha Williams abt
1823 in Mississippi. Is William a brother to Joseph Carlock who married
Pricilla Middleton? And I have read previously that William died about
9/10 years after he and Martha married, does anyone have the date and
place? What are the names of the children born to William and Martha? I
have had this information before, but can not locate now. Any help would
be appreciated.
