I believe the Ralph CARLOCK who married Jennie DORRITY, 1899 - 1900, to be the same
individual as the Ralph CARLOCK, s/o John Henry CARLOCK and Anna Elisa, who appears on the
1880 United States Federal Census, Paterson, Passaic Co., NJ, supervisor's district
83, enumeration district 158, page 30, enumerated June 7, 1880, dwelling 191, family 329.
Ralph and Jennie appear on the 1900 United States Federal Census, Paterson, Passaic Co.,
NJ, supervisor's district 3, enumeration district 117, sheet 13A, enumerated June 12,
1900, dwelling 175, family 272. According to the above-mentioned 2005 posting, Ralph and
Jennie divorced "before" 1910, at which time Jennie can be found using the name
Jennie DORIETY.
Ralph's father John Henry CARLOCK is listed on page 434 of the book "History of
the Carlock Family," by Marion Pomeroy CARLOCK, 1929, as s/o John D. CARLOCK and
Louise EMMETT. I have not yet been able to determine the names of John D. CARLOCK's
parents, but he is believed to be somehow descended from the immigrant Coenraad
"Conrad" GERLACH/CARLOCK (1669 - ca. 1712) of Hackensack, Bergen Co., NJ.
Any additional information about this family would be greatly appreciated.
