Deceased Name: Dorothy S. Carlock Dorothy S. Carlock, 85, of Prophetstown,
former
elementary teacher in the Bloomington area, died Thursday (April 1,
1993) at CGH Medical Center, Sterling.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Fenton United Methodist Church,
Fenton.
Burial will be in the Fenton Cemetery, Fenton.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Gibson Funeral Home, Eire.
Mrs. Carlock was born Jan. 13, 1908, at Fenton, a daughter of Harry and
Minnie
Burns Snyder. She married L.D. "Pete" Carlock June 6, 1936. He
survives.
Other survivors include one son, Dr. William Carlock, Wilmette; two
grandsons; and
one sister, Marian Grove, Peoria. Mrs. Carlock, who attended
Eureka College for two years and graduated from Illinois State Normal
University, was an elementary teacher for 37 years in the Bloomington area,
Fenton and Prophetstown.
She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, an honorary for outstanding woman
educators.
Memorials may be made to the Fenton United Methodist Church or to the
First United
Methodist Church of Prophetstown.

Deceased Name: Dorthe M. Carlock TAYLORVILLE Dorthe Marie Jones
Carlock,
92, of Taylorville died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, at Meadow Manor Nursing
Home,
Taylorville.
She was born Nov. 3, 1906, in Grundy County, the daughter of Richard Lewis
and
Nicie R. Limes Jones. She married R.A. "Curly" Carlock in 1942; he
preceded her in death in 1995. Mrs. Carlock was a retired homemaker. She was
a member of First Baptist Church, Taylorville, the Magna Charta Dames,
Medinah White Shrine of Jerusalem 98, Haslemere Chapter of the Order of the
Eastern Star, and the Friendly Neighbors Garden Club. She also served as the
leader of O-Six Os Kitchen Band, having made many performances, including an
appearance at the Illinois State Fair.
Survivors: several nieces and nephews.
Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Sutton Memorial Chapel, Taylorville, the Rev.
George Christman officiating. Burial: Glen Haven Memorial Gardens,
Taylorville.
