This is in reply to Terry LITTLETON's (tlturbo(a)aol.com) Sept. 27, 2004, posting to the
RootsWeb CARLOCK Message Board titled "Carlock - Littletons in Union Co, IL."
Although I do not have the answers to any of your questions at this time, I do have
information about additional connections between the CARLOCK and LITTLETON families.
1. According to the Illinois Statewide Marriage Index at the following site, David T.
LITTLETON m. Mary C. PETERSON Sept. 14, 1879, Union Co., IL, and Thomas E. CARLOCK m. Mrs.
Mary C. PETERSON LITTLETON, Oct. 15, 1896, Union Co., IL:
http://www.sos.state.il.us/GenealogyMWeb/marrsrch.html
I believe Mary's second husband to be Thomas Eber CARLOCK (s/o James Calvin CARLOCK
and Elinore Isabelle "Ellen" LITTLETON whom you mentioned); b. Aug. 29, 1848; m.
Harriet Rebecca DAVIS, Nov. 14, 1869, Union Co., IL; d. Jan. 1904. Harriet d. ca. Feb. or
June of 1895. Any additional information about David T. LITTLETON or Mary C. PETERSON
would be greatly appreciated.
2. According to the following source, combined with information from additional sources,
Joseph Green FORD (s/o John FORD/FOARD, Sr., and Rebecca CARLOCK), b. 1817, Mecklenburg
Co., NC; m. Margaret Ann LITTLETON:
Annis (annis123(a)bellsouth.net), e-mail, Sept. 3, 2004.
Joseph's father John FORD/FOARD, Sr., d. Jan. 13, 1849, Union Co., IL. I am not sure
of Rebecca CARLOCK's parents at this time, but she is also very likely closely related
to the other CARLOCKs you mentioned, descendants of Frederick CARLOCK (1720 - 1792) of
Mecklenburg Co., NC. Note that John FORD/FOARD, Sr., and Rebecca CARLOCK were also
parents of Susannan Rachel FORD whom you mentioned, who m#1. Thomas LITTLETON and m#2.
Ebenezer "Eber" CARLOCK. Any additional information that you may be able to
provide with regard to this FORD family or Margaret Ann LITTLETON would be greatly
appreciated.
