Allen,
I'm still not finding anything further for your father, Allen Wayne CARLOCK (1941 -
1968), or his family. I would suggest trying to obtain a copy of your father's death
certificate and obituary if one exists. See if the Jersey City public library could help
you with this. Your father probably died in December, 1968.
Do you know if your father came from the Jersey City area? Do you know where your father
is buried? If there are other CARLOCKs buried in that same cemetery, they could be
related to your father.
You might also try to get a copy of your father's military records. Perhaps another
researcher could give you some advice on how to go about doing this. As mentioned in my
previous posting, your father's Social Security number was probably 157-30-6740,
issued in New Jersey.
The following site shows Hudson Co., NJ, as being next to Bergen Co., NJ, so it is very
likely that your father was a member of the Bergen Co., NJ, branch of the CARLOCK family:

You might try posting queries to the Bergen Co. and Hudson Co., NJ, message boards and/or
mailing lists.
Most CARLOCKs and CARLOUGHs in the Bergen Co., NJ/Rockland Co., NY, area are descended
from Coenraad "Conrad" GERLACH/GERLAG/CARLOCK of Hackensack, Bergen Co., NJ, who
was born 1660, Heidelberg, Germany, and died ca. 1712. Many of the CARLOCKs in Ohio and
Indiana are also descended from Conrad.
I am descended from Coenraad's brother David GERLACH/CARLOCK (1674 - 1763) who
migrated to Augusta Co., VA, and is the ancestor of most of the CARLOCKs, CARELOCKs,
CEARLOCKs (pronounced like "CARELOCKs"), and CURLOCKs in America. Another
brother, Johann Christian GERLACH/GARLOCK/CARLOCK (1669 - 1764), migrated to the Schoharie
and Mohawk Valleys of New York, and is the ancestor of most of the GARLOCKs in America.
Please let me know what you find. I would very much like to be able to connect you and
your father to the rest of the CARLOCK family tree.
Other possible avenues of research include requesting a copy of your parents' marriage
license and searching for a possible marriage announcement.
