Thanks to CARLOCK researchers Paulette WILLIAMS and Dick DIXON, I
have
been able to identify E. A. CARLOCK who was mentioned in "The
Avalanche"
newspaper, Lubbock, TX, 1908, as Edmond Albert CARLOCK (s/o John Andrew,
John Christian, Moses, Hanchrist, David) who is mentioned on pages 119,
389 - 391, and 572 of the book "History of the Carlock Family," by Marion
Pomeroy CARLOCK, 1929. A biography of Edmond Albert CARLOCK, former owner
of the "Paducah Post," Paducah, Cottle Co., TX, and 50th president of the
Texas Press Association, appears on pages 389 - 391 of the above-mentioned
book, as well as at the following site:
http://www.texaspress.com/pastpresidents/1920_1950/EACarlock1927_28.htm .
I would be interested in death or burial information for Edmond and his
wife Elfie
Elva BLAKE CARLOCK if anyone has access to that information.
According to the above-mentioned book, in 1929 the couple had no children.
Mr. CARLOCK is believed to have died before 1965.
Information about purchasing or viewing a copy of the above-mentioned book
can be
obtained through the following site:
