Thanks to CARLOCK researchers Paulette WILLIAMS and Dick DIXON, I have been
able to identify E. A. CARLOCK who was mentioned in "The Avalanche"
newspaper, Lubbock, TX, 1908, as Edmond Albert CARLOCK (s/o John Andrew,
John Christian, Moses, Hanchrist, David) who is mentioned on pages 119,
389 - 391, and 572 of the book "History of the Carlock Family," by Marion
Pomeroy CARLOCK, 1929. A biography of Edmond Albert CARLOCK, former owner
of the "Paducah Post," Paducah, Cottle Co., TX, and 50th president of the
Texas Press Association, appears on pages 389 - 391 of the above-mentioned
book, as well as at the following site:

E. A. CARLOCK, who has held a position with the Avalanche for over a year
left Tuesday for Paducah, Cottle county, where he will take charge of the
band at that place. Mr. CARLOCK is a young man of great musical talent
and has rendered good service to the Lubbock Band during his stay with
us and we regret to see him leave our town. Mr. CARLOCK's place in the
Avalanche will be filled by Mr. Volney S. STENEART, of Texico who will
arrive in a few days to inter upon his duties here.
