This is in reply to Shamon's Sept. 20, 2012, posting to the RootsWeb CARLOCK Message
Board titled "Carlock."
Following is what I show for your ancestor Thomas W. CARLOCK's CARLOCK lineage:
Johan Peter "Hans" GERLACH
David GERLACH/CARLOCK
Frederick CARLOCK/CARELOCK
Frederick CARLOCK
John CARLOCK, Sr.
Frederick Cornelius "Cornelius" CARLOCK/CARELOCK
Thomas W. CARLOCK.
I show Thomas's mother to have been Matilda PYRON (1815 - ca. 1863). The family of
Cornelius CARLOCK and Matilda PYRON can be found on pages 616 and 617 of the book
"History of the Carlock Family," by Marion Pomeroy CARLOCK, 1929. The family of
your ancestor Thomas W. CARLOCK is listed on page 620 of the same book. However, page 620
lists Thomas as having a son named "Brice," but I have not yet found Brice on
any of the censuses and the 1910 census for Mill Creek Township, Ashley Co., AR, says that
this was the first marriage for Thomas and that 4 of 4 children born to Laura were living
at the time of the census. It appears that "Brice" may actually be Dwight Lee
CARLOCK (1889 - 1975) of Ashley Co., AR.
