According to the following site, Frederick CARLOCK m. Isabel CAROTHERS, d/o
John CAROTHERS and Eleanor SHELBY, Aug. 2, 1784, Rowan Co., NC, and
Frederick and Isabel had a son named John CARLOCK, (b. before 1791; d. 3 Jan
1865, Colbert Co., AL), who m. Isabel "Ibby" SHELBY, d/o Thomas SHELBY and
Sarah (possibly HELMS), ca. 1809, Cabarrus Co., NC:

Page 615 of the book "History of the Carlock Family," by Marion Pomeroy
CARLOCK, 1929, lists the above-mentioned John CARLOCK (b. 1785, Mecklenburg
Co., NC) as son of George CARLOCK of Mecklenburg Co., NC, instead of
Frederick CARLOCK. However, the following site shows a different John
CARLOCK, b. ca. 1768, who m. Wilhelmina and had at least 3 children marry in
Franklin Co., MS, as being the correct son for George CARLOCK of Mecklenburg
Co., NC:

I am seeking evidence to either prove or disprove all of the above
information.
I am also attempting to verify whether or not the above-mentioned Frederick
CARLOCK is the same individual who was one of two Frederick KERLOCKs listed
on the 1790 census for Mecklenburg Co., NC, along with probable father
Frederick KERLOCK (CARLOCK) and probable brother George KERLOCK (CARLOCK),
all three listed on page 437 of the book "History of the Carlock Family."

I live in Texas and have only limited access to North Carolina records. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.
