The following references to the CARLOCK family and Frederick STARNES can be found in Vol.
I, II, and III of the book "Chronicles of the Scotch-Irish Settlement in Virginia,
Extracted From the Original Court Records of August County, 1745-1800," by Lyman
CHALKLEY, published by Genealogical Publishing Co., Baltimore, 1965.
Adam Frederick "Frederick" STARNES m. Caroline CARLOCK, ca. 1756, Augusta Co.,
VA. Note the reference to Frederick STERN, Sr., on pg. 431 of Volume I, indicating that
there were at least two Frederick STARNES (STERNes). Does anyone know the names of Adam
Frederick "Frederick" STARNES's parents? I am not aware of Adam Frederick
"Frederick" STARNES having a son named Frederick.
