The text of the three volumes of "Chronicles of the Scotch-Irish Settlement
in Virginia, Extracted From the Original Court Records of Augusta County,
1745-1800," by Lyman CHALKLEY, mentioned in my earlier posting, can be
accessed through the following site.
http://www.rootsweb.com/~chalkley/
I also have copies of these books in my personal library.
I am presently corresponding with another researcher who is exploring the
possibility that her ancestor Humphrey BAKER, mentioned in some of these
records with members of the CARLOCK family, including Frederick STARNES, is
somehow related to the CARLOCK family, possibly through marriage. She is
trying to find out more about the relationship between the CARLOCK, GOLDMAN,
STARNES, BROWN, and BAKER families, some of whom were mentioned in my
earlier posting. Does anyone have any additional information on this
subject?

Subject: CARLOCK and STARNES Family References in Augusta Co., VA, Records,
1745 - 1771
The following references to the CARLOCK family and Frederick STARNES
can
be found in Vol. I, II, and III of the book "Chronicles of the
Scotch-Irish
Settlement in Virginia, Extracted From the Original Court Records of Augusta
County, 1745-1800," by Lyman CHALKLEY, published by Genealogical Publishing
Co., Baltimore, 1965.
Adam Frederick "Frederick" STARNES m. Caroline CARLOCK, ca. 1756, Augusta
Co., VA. Note the reference to Frederick STERN, Sr., on pg. 431 of Volume
I, indicating that there were at least two Frederick STARNES (STERNes).
Does anyone know the names of Adam Frederick "Frederick" STARNES's parents?
I am not aware of Adam Frederick "Frederick" STARNES having a son named
Frederick.
