Hi Susan,
I don't know if this will help you, but in my book, "Excerpts from the
Ashley County Eagle, 1889-1914", there are four references to Carlocks:
Frank Norrell died May 25th, 1896, born Alabama, Aug. 18th, 1854, moved
here early in life. First married to Miss Fannie Carlock, Dec. 1882;
she died the following May......
Mrs. Carlock has come here to live with her daughter, Mrs. H.C. Sivils.
Jan. 17, 1907
Mr. C.C. Carlock and Miss Lydia Rice of Brushey received a marriage
license. June 6, 1907
Mr. C.C. Carlock has a fine girl at his house, April 2, 1908
One Sivils item says:
Miss Flora Sivils, who has been visiting her brother, R.W. Sivils, left
for her home in Mississippi Sunday. April 18, 1907
Another: Mr. R. W. Sivils died May 10th, 1908. He moved from
Mississippi in 1897, and had been a citizen of Ashley County ever
since. Was a soldier in the Confederate Army; 77 at the time of his
death from Bright's disease. Buried in the Carter Cemetery, Bro. C.B.
Hollis, minister.
Sometimes one little clue helps.
