Message Board Post:
Can anyone identify the Bertha CARLOCK, w/o Charles F. JORDAN, whose daughter Faye JORDAN
(1924 - 2006) is buried in the Chandlerville Cemetery, Cass Co., IL, according to the
following site?
http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilmaga/cass/cemetery/chandlerville.html
Is this the same person as the Bertha CARLOCK, listed on pg. 508 of the book "History
of the Carlock Family," by Marion Pomeroy CARLOCK, 1929, as d/o Oscar CARLOCK and
Anna RAPP?
The Social Security Death Index, located at the following site, lists the residence of
Bertha's 1st cousin Carroll Eugene CARLOCK (1918 - 1998), also listed on pg. 508 of
the above-mentioned book, as Chandlerville, Cass Co., IL:
http://ssdi.rootsweb.com/
Furthermore, Carroll's brother Jack Maurell CARLOCK, also listed on pg. 508 of the
above-mentioned book, Jack's wife Ina Mae MARCY CARLOCK, and Jack and Ina's
daughter Brenda L. CARLOCK, are also listed as buried in the Chandlerville Cemetery.
Other CARLOCKs with Cass Co., IL, connections whose ancestry I have not yet been able to
identify are:
1. Anna A. CARLOCK m. James E. WHITE, 13 Mar 1902, Cass Co., IL.
2. Charles E. CARLOCK m. Bessie POWELL, 29 Jan 1910, Cass Co., IL.
3. James CARLOCK m. Merilda LANE, 29 Sep 1892, Cass Co., IL.
4. Laura CARLOCK m. Lewis A. SMITH, 16 Aug 1895, Cass Co., IL.
5. Lewis CARLOCK, b. 5 Jun 1881; d. May 1968; residence Chandlerville, Cass Co., IL.
6. Priscilla CARLOCK m. George HARMON, 6 Sep 1860, Cass Co., IL.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
