Dear Linde,
Very glad we found this post on GenForum. We could not respond because GenForum shut
down, and we had to get on
Ancestry.com. We are interested in the Carlisle family from
Ballymena,County Antrim, Ireland. My great-grandmother was Nancy Carlisle. Born 1811, in
Ballymena to Daniel Carlisle. Her brothers and sister were: William, Henry, John, Mary
Ann and Adam. All of these were half brothers and sister. Nancy had a different mother.
On Adam's death certificate, which we have, his mother is listed as Agnes and father
as Daniel. We have record of a David that was baptized in Ahoghill, near Ballymena. No
records of him in America. All of the other brothers and sisters are buried in
Soule's Chapel Cemetery in Chickasaw County, Mississippi, USA, except Adam who is
buried in Aberdeen, Monroe County, Mississippi, USA.
Nancy Carlisle married James Allen in 1845 in Monroe County, Mississippi (have
marriage license) Alexander Carlisle signed for her marriage license. We believe that
James Carlisle is Alexander's father. Mary Rhea (Rae) may be his mother. We have
other information that we can provide for you if you are interested.
Would you please correspond with us (Barbara Allen Jackson and daughter, Patricia
Terrell)
Barbara's email is: barbandjackjackson(a)gmail.com
Patricia Terrell: cterrel(a)comcast.net
We look forward to hearing from you. This is January 28, 2015
