Susan,
Thank you for your input. We found the post below on the Message Board recently.
Somehow, we all seem see things differently.
Our main objective in making our posts was to learn more about the yDNA Carlisle Project
and
to try to determine the relationship/connection of the Carlisle ancestors who have been
determined by yDNA to be closely related to our ancestor, Thomas Carlisle. Are you
descended from Nathaniel, Edmund G., Hosea, Micajah, or our Thomas?

I made a copy of the will of Robert when I was in NC. Unfortunately, it is not
the best but is readable. Daughters: Susanah, MaryAnne, Sarah and Rhoda are
mentioned as are sons:Coleman, Simon and Edwin (not Edmund). The will states
the facts you noted from the book. Iwould be happy to send you a copy.I also
made copies William and Sarah Carlile'wills (parents fo Robert). Again the
quality of the copies are poor. Hope this might be helpful.

which is correct, but a lot of people believe it to be Edmund.
On William who was married to Sarah Bell, I'm curious where the maiden name Anderson
came from. I hadn't seen that before.
The thought has always been that Sarah was a widow with Bell children when she married
Robert Carlisle, then had more children with him. This is just the assumptions based on
her will.
Some online trees have her as Nancy Bell....Not sure where that came from.

Susan,
That's my question too. Where does the maidenname Anderson come from. I had
seen it somewhere so I put it down as a 'possible'.
