I find this intriguing. Do you have documentation, dates and geography for
Susannah Green's marriage to Robert Coleman and for Robert Carlisle and
Sarah Coleman? I found an undocumented reference that puts them in Edgecombe
County.
I did find Coleman Carlisle on the 1790 Edgecombe County census.
We now know that Edmund Carlisle entered Revolutionary service as a
late teenager in Chatham County, two counties west of Edgecombe. In 1780,
Edmund transferred land in Chatham County to John Petty and took off for
Georgia. The question is (and I don't have the answer) did he buy the land
or did he inherit it?

I'm traveling and not able to monitor this conversation as I
would like,
but I am a descendant of Coleman Carlisle. I am female, but have done the
Ancestry DNA test. Would that be of any use?
My line is Robert Coleman and Susannah Green, Robert Carlisle and Sarah
Coleman, Coleman Carlisle and Hannah Thompson Glenn, James Glenn Carlisle
and
Nancy Hawker Selby, Hawker Owen Carlisle and Elizabeth Walker Ames
Carlisle, Missouri Alice Carlisle Knight, Clark Knight and Clarice Emma
Smith
Knight, and me (Mary Ruth Knight McGarr).
If you make the connection to Susannah Green, then lots of the names in
the
Carlisle line make sense--as Edmund Green Carlisle. (There's even a
child of Edmund named Green Whatley Carlisle.)
I got into the DAR through Missouri Alice Carlisle and then through the
Ames line but had to prove Ames/Carlisle marriage.
I believe that Susannah Green is the youngest daughter of Henry Filmer
Green and Mary Walker. The child before Susannah Green is Edmund Green.
I've suggested this elsewhere, but no one seems interested!
What is the convention in Houston? I live in Katy, a suburb of Houston.
