Rebecca Lovell Lunceford: Thank you so much for putting what you have on the internet.
I have traced my husbands desc. back to Thomas Carlisle, 1775. I quit for a while on
this
family but I won't to finish soon. This is my late mother-in-laws family and what
connected
worked. James B. Carlisle that married Elizabeth Saunders (Saunders is my line, I found
back
thru Eng. Scotland and Ireland. The Royalty goes back to Alexander the Great, nicknamed
Zaunders, a nick name for Saunders. The line was from France, the king that cut off
Marie
Antoniette's head and before that, Kings of all Roman Empires. Finland, Sweden,
Russia,
Spain, Germany, and the rest. They came up thur Adam and Eve, thru dau. Azra and her
bro. Seth. But on the way, Abraham, and his king sons, Noah, and Jesus' family.
There's
too many to name.I have found all the Saunders in the US go to the same line. I will look
up
the Elizabeth. Mine came into San Augustine, TX during the TX Rev., my grandmother's
descendants. I noticed some of the Carlisles came near San Augustine Co., in TX.
The family I have back to recently all lived in Lawrence Co, MS but my mother-in-law said
something about Monroe. Her father was an train engineer and it wrecked. it crushed his
leg and was pinned on heavy steel. A black man came by and called him Mr. Charlie. He
was Charles Edison Carlisle (he used Carlile and the family does tool) He told the black
man
to get his pocket knife out of his pocket and cut his leg off below his knee. The man did
not
want to do it but Big Daddy as we called him, threatened him he would come after him is
he
ever did get his leg free. He wore a wooden leg the rest of his life. He was a very
large man.
His leg is buried by his wife and child in Bogue Chitta, MS, he is buried in Houston, TX.
His father was John Hamilton Carlisle, his grandfather was Allen R. Carlisle,
g-grandfather, John B. Carlisle.
Charles Edison Carlisle married Ann Ballard in Lawrence Co. Ms. I found the family on the
census yrs. ago. J. H. was buried in the same cem. near the Bapt. Church in Bogue Chitta
Charles married a Mary Victoria Price. She died in 1923 just after having twins. Big
Daddy
never married again. He moved to TX to live with my mother-[in-law, Clarice Carlile.
Conner.
I wrote all she mentioned on paper I could find nearby. I am sure I have missed some but
will show up later. That is all I had to work with. Her neice came to see her when she
was
feeble, talked her into all the papers, pictures and info. she had. She was supposed to
bring
them back but never did. Before she died, she asked me to get them back. I have sent
word
but she will not answer me. I know it was important to Clarice or she would not have told
me
to get them back from her.
A lot of the Quires are being cut, I left my email to contact me in case it does.
