Dear Mary,
I am very interested in knowing more about your Robert Carlisle and his
sons Edmund and Coleman Carlisle. I have seen rumors that this might be
the family of my Edmund Carlisle, RWS, who died in Georgia and whose
widow moved with her sons and family to Milltown, Chambers County,
Alabama. Do you have any estate records on Robert Carlisle or any old
letters, bibles, pension files, or any other document showing the
relationships of Robert Carlisle and his presumed sons Edmund and
Coleman. I'd like to find concrete proof of who the ancestors of my
Chambers County, Alabama Carlisle family were.
Thanks,
Robert C. Johnston, Jr.

I have an Edmund Carlisle as son of Robert Carlisle, also a
Revolutionary
Soldier. I have no date of birth for Edmund, but 1760 fits perfectly
within the
family. His brother, Coleman Carlisle, is my ancestor. I am also
interested
in your Rebecca Watson Carlisle as my great grandfather was Hawker Owen
Carlisle, and he was married to Elizabeth W. Ames whose mother was a
Watson.
I also recognize (I think) your
ttu.edu as being from Texas Tech. I
graduated
from Tech.
Please let me know if you want to have what I have on this family.
