Becky,
I'm not sure if we have communicated before, but I am most interested in
your posting. I am interested in knowing how you determined Elizabeth
was married twice. Have you proven who her parents were and who she
married prior to marrying Edmund Carlisle. I have seen others state that
the "G" in Edmund's middle name stood for "Green" but I have
proven that
yet.
I descend from Robert Whatley Carlisle, b/o Edmund Whatley Carlisle,
through his son Edmund Jefferson Carlisle who was my 3rd
great-grandfather. I would love to know more about your line. Since
Edmund W. Carlisle moved out to TX, records of him here in Alabama are
very scarce, except for the estate records of his mother in Chambers
County, Alabama. I love collecting pictures and am most interested in
knowing what old pictures you have of the early Carlisle generations.
Hope to hear from you soon.

I am researching the following:
Edmund G. Carlisle, b. @ 1760, where probably in NC, d. 4/13/1828 Morgan
Co. Ga., buried ?; served in the RW and drew land in two veterans land
drawings, married Elizabeth Ann(?) Whatley Carlisle, b. probably about
1779/1780, and probably old Wilkes county, Ga., this was her second
marriage, d. 1854/5 Chambers co. Ala.
I am descended from their son, Edmund Whatley Carlisle, b. 1808, Morgan
Co., Ga., d. Cass co. Tx. and his second wife, Rebecca Watson Carlisle.
