Welcome to the CARLISLE mailing list! You are currently subscribed
in
"digest mode", which means that several postings made
to CARLISLE will be consolidated together and sent to you as a single
large message. The directions on how to change to mail mode (where
you receive every message as a separate e-mail) are given below.
1. How to unsubscribe. Send a message to
CARLISLE-D-request(a)rootsweb.com
that contains (in the body of the message) the command
unsubscribe
and no additional text.
2. How to subscribe. Whatever you just did worked, or you'd
not be getting this message. But for future reference (for instance,
if your subscription is cancelled for whatever reason and you
want to resubscribe), just send the command "subscribe" to
CARLSILE-D-request(a)rootsweb.com.
3. How to change to mail mode (each posting is sent to you as a
separate e-mail). There are two steps. First, send the command
"unsubscribe" to CARLISLE-D-request(a)rootsweb.com to discontinue digest
mode. Second, send the command "subscribe" to
CARLISLE-L-request(a)rootsweb.com to start receiving individual messages.
4. How to change to NOMAIL mode. There is no formal NOMAIL mode.
All you have to do is follow the directions above and unsubscribe
when you want the messages to stop, and then when you want them
to start again, simply subscribe again.
5. If you'd like to post a message so everyone on the mailing
list receives it, just send it to CARLISLE-L(a)rootsweb.com. It
will then be sent on to everyone in both mail and digest mode.
You don't need to send it explicitly to both.
6. To contact the administrator of this mailing list, send mail to
CARLISLE-admin(a)rootsweb.com.
For your verification, a transcript of the original subscription
request is included below.

Hi everyone
As of today Rootsweb have a new system for all their mailing lists and as they are doing
it alphabetical order - we are almost the first cabs off the rank, so to speak!!!
So let's test out their new system and find out first hand what the changes mean to
us, " the listers"
How about a New Year Roll Call in August and list all surnames we have an interest in,
even our brick walls - who knows our luck may change and find the link we have all been
looking for
Good Luck & Happy Searching
Regards

Tn. Married Isaac Cross her sister Francis D. Carlisle married John Cross. We THINK her
father was William Carlisle and her Mother Emaline Roberts. We know nothing further
other than the fact that she also had a brother named John. She may have had other
siblings this is all we know. A brick wall....you bet it is.

I have been searching for my great grand mother Mary Belle Carlisle born Nov
5, 1857 in Springfield, Illinois and passed Nov 26, 1948 In Anderson,
Indiana. Her father is James Madison Carlisle. The only thing I know about
him is that he was born in Kentucky. His wife is Mary Catherine Troxel born
in Pennsylvania.
Mary Belle has a sister Harriett E. and two brothers Thomas E. and William
B.
I would love to hear from anyone who might be able to help any information.
Thank you,
Shirley Utterback
