Hi Dan. I have not be able to do any research for the past few months and just say your
posting. I'm wondering if there may be a connection here. My father was Vernon John
Carlisle Jr (US Navy) b. 18 April 1928 Highbridge NJ d.Sep 1981 NJ m. Cora Elizabeth
Wright. Son of Vernon John Carlisle Sr. (US Navy) b.6 June 1906 Highbridge NJ d. 8 june
1954 South Plainfield NJ. m. Rose Lee Donovan. Roses' mother Martha
"mattie" Webb was from MD? and her father Randolph Marshall Donovan was from
Cedar Creek Hundred area of DE
Vernon Sr was the son of John Carlisle b. 28 April 1873 Susex Col DE. d.? m.? I lose
everything at this point. I have been told that John Carlisles' fathers name was
also John. I do not know if there was a middle name. My mother tells me that they came
from a long line of Carlisles that were from Sussex Co. Cedar Creek Hundred area of DE. I
did track down a John Carlisle in Susex Co in the draft records and he was living with a
visiting Carlisle relative who also signed up for the draft. If my memory serves me
correct that relative was from NJ. I had a lot of links and sites that I had been to on
my computer and then the crash came. The best recovery Co. in the US couldn't save
anything. I did have quite a bit of hard copy info but a lot was lost. (always back up).
Do any of these names sound familiar to you? I started this 4 years ago and am still at a
dead end on this line. Thank for anything you have. Dawn
