We don't know anything about ours except the name. Wife was Sarah, Salla or
Sally Broom. And not sure of that.
She was born about 1820-1825 and on census in Fairfield, SC in 1860 with
N.J. daug. 12 born SC and R.C. 2, daug born S.C. Sarah was born S.C.
No mention of Wm in the area. Sarah was supposed to be indian so maybe not
married to him. Also said to have a son who died of the measles in the war?
as a drummer boy. No name for him.
I found Wms in Abbeyville and 2 other places in wills, but no mention of
Sarah.
Any help anyone? Thanks, Margaret
