Dear Becky,
The only thing I know about my g-grandmother is, she was Scots-Irish, her maiden name was
E. Carlyle, she married John Carlisle, they had a family Annie, Charles?, Edith?, and
John Wesley b. 1859 Greenwood DE. John Wesley was younger than the rest of the family.
He left home at 16 yr. old, went west, living and working in 28 states, before he married
my grandmother in NE. I have 2 letters written to my grandmother in 1920. One is from
Annie Sharp, she calls herself "Aunt Annie", this must be John Wesley's
sister. Do not know the housbands name. The other is from Annie B. Wooters, of Houston,
DE she calls herself "neice". Annie Wooters speaks of her son "Lester
Wooters", that works in Chester PA. John the father and his brother were
shipbuilders. One of them fell from the mass of the ship to the deck and was killed. I
did find a Thomas Carlisle in South Milford, Sussex, DE. listed as a shipbuilder.
South Milford and Greenwood are close together. I also found Charles Carlisle b. Oct.30
1857 Cumberland, Leesburg, NJ, parents John & Eliza. If any of this matches with your
information, I am very willing to share. Thanks Carol
