I went to the genealogy section at the library and checked the 1840 SC census
index. They listed Elijah, a James, a John and a Pricella Carlisle as being in
Lancaster.

I have tried to find Elijah on Lancaster census. I never found him.
Is it
on the internet? If so, what is the website. I have no idea where he was
before SC, I would love to know. Probably have to take a trip to SC to find
out any additional info.
I don't know Elizabeth's maiden name. And! I hve checked everything that I
knew to check - which is not saying much since I am new at this.
I certainly appreciate your information.
Marjorie
