HI Lynn, I have tried very hard to connect my Carliles to the Halifax
Carliles because of the many simular names but have not been able to
make
the connection.

Hi,
I can go back to my 3rd ggfather, Levi Carlisle, b. ca 1790-1800. He married Penny
Carlisle on 19 Feb. 1822 Halifax Co., NC.
I've been told there is a Ulster connection.
I talked to a Carlisle in Co. Down last week and he's going to gather up some
genealogy papers of his father and send me copies.
Do you know of the Levi Carlisle and the Scotland Neck area, NC Carlisles and Halifax
Co., NC?
Thank you,
Capt. Lynn R. McR. Hawkins, (Rtd.), FSA (Scot.)
