ApplesTree!
Thank you so much for your email. I'll respond to it on the "private type"
parts there.
Forgive the loquaciousness(sp?) of this post. Im am neurologically disabled and ADD and
OCD are side effects, among other irritating disorders....
you (and one other) have one of the rare trees to have my grandmother Marion Stewart, her
siblings, my great grandfather george sawin stewart, (a renowned genealogist from MASS)and
so on, up to David and Leatis (or whoever).
(Im looking for her sibling's living descendants, as well as nice folks like u)
Ill find and email u the RootsWeb where it quotes a publication he did. since u seem to
like the historical books. I was going to look it up on BYU and archive.org's
libraries.
I'll keep an eye out for Leatis' (L*t*s')last name and origin (sounds Irish
also) I know there could be a number of mispellings on that one for census' etc and
many davids so u might want to search on one of the childrens less common names for vital
records and census' as a parent. (but u probably already know that)
I had a William and Luvenia in my Morris tree that had at least 8 different iterations and
tons of Wms. thank God, she had 9 children and that's how I could trace her. but
that was a long gene-nightmare. try Leitas, Lietus, Leetus, Leetys or just L*t*s, darn I
could go on forever!!! Best to try for the kids less common names or ones u have a middle
name for.
I cant see a private tree that has more than 10k entries, and she's from Michigan area
I think, Ill find her name in my notes and include it in the email and maybe she could
help with that.
There's also a pretty big genforum site on CARLISLE's and CARLILE's and
CARLYLE's. Posting an inquiry there might be good.
I also find RootsWeb (only some of the trees) invaluable. Mamy of them take genealogy
seriously and document(footnotes and bbls) extensively. Many list NEHS books and pubs
about boat passengers and dates. They may have married in UK and had Thomas(ur suspect
son)....(try to find someone with UK records access also but alot of the good RTWeb
creators already have all this and read extensively.....)
They would be able to back up info like if Thomas did exist as a child of David sr. (might
he have been a child like 1st david jr who didnt live very long? vital records for that
area may have a birth or death of just a carlile/carlisle no first name during child
bearing years) or could he have been another wifes child? or born in UK? cnat remember
what I read about him in your blog and post.
In looking briefly a few places like findagrave (noticed u in Mass and NH; u get around,
girl!)for Leitis or Thomas, which is still new and sporadically inclusive, but maybe the
photographer or documentor could look closer at the stone or the cemetery proprietor could
look it up in records.
or maybe finding a living carlile in
yp.com/intellius (the free part which gives age up to
140 years!!!) and sometimes phoen numbers in
whitepages.com and peoplesearch (which gives
relatives for free),
then if u cant get the phone # for free with these sites (we dont pay our teachers enuf!)
try the local libraries via
yp.com or, I forget if 800-yellowpages exists for people
searches, but if so, ask em how the weather is in Connecticut. (blizzard in winter 09,
hurricane in summer 11, gosh I digress! sorry)
anyway, maybe they could visit the cemetery and maybe even take a pic for u! (I've
met quite a few "new" relatives thru yp and whitepages)
I was hoping u'd want to share info as you said in your blog. Hope my 1st ever dumb
blog didnt go very far.
I'll try to help u in return, as you can see by this post.
Really liked your site. Nice photos, layout, etc. really warm and friendly. have a
comment tho on why I posted a blog instead of a comment under your ahmental. (large
picture didnt unfold in time (slow connection)and didnt know surnames, etc were options
listed below.))
FYI, David sr's Will is up here, you posted it, and its in your blog.
Thank u so much, ill keep my eye out for Le*s and get back to u later on your thoughtful
email.
all the best

ps dont think any in your reply post is in my tree but may be of some use to someone such
as the owner of the tree I mentioned above(and will email u info on) but thanks anyway
let me know if u want my stats, Im putting together a general letter for another contact
who can "contact" tree creators (as I cannot) to forward to folks like u (that
dont post-the only way I CAN contact tree owners)for collaboration such as yours. I have
probably only bout 10 people to add, below George. In my family, men and women die before
55-Marion Stewart husband's line).
Dont have Marion's Siblings/Descendants put in yet(who I hope to find). one tree i
have is only 130 (and only George and Thomas Stewart are in it and another is 1100 but
doesnt go into Stewarts/Carliles yet.
I only started this 3 mo ago.
Best wishes, and thanks again. TEACHERS RULE!!!
