Carol,
All of my information is by word of the older folks, and also some from a very distant
cousin whom is tracing a different branch of my family.
You said your grandfather is John Wesley b. 1858. I don't have a John Wesley, what I
do have is a John with an unknown middle name. You stated that his parents are listed as
John and E. (Carlyle) Carlisle. That means that they may have been cousins when they
married. Am I correct? My grandfather says he had an Great Uncle and Great Aunt that
married. He can not remember which ones. Also my grandfather states that there was a
John who never really associated with the family. He also says that his father spelled
the Carlisle name CARLYLE when my Pop was young. He remembers changing it when he around
13-16.
I also have a Charles Manlon Carlisle b. 10/1876. His wife was Annie but no one can
remember her last name. I have Charles Manlon Carlisle's father as Charles James
Carlisle b. 11/25/1844. He married Mary Pauline Donovan b. 11/30/1857. This puts your
John Wesley at the same age range to be a brother to my Charles James.
