9. Moses Carlisle (son of Richard 1) born Mar 13, 1815, Marlboro County,
SC.; d. Dec 23, 1864, Shelby Springs, Shelby County, Ala., and is buried
there; married Gillia M. Wood, born in South Carolina, Oct 13, 1816; d.
Mar 27, 1900, Jefferson County, Ala., buried at New Bethel, near
Warrior, Alabama. She was the daughter of Joseph Wood, born Dec 1782,
and Clarissa Wood, born June 6, 1790. At one time Moses and Gillia were
members of Ruhama Baptist Church in East Lake, Jefferson County, Ala. He
was received by experience in Nov. 1845, and his wife by letter in Feb.
1850. They were living in Pike County, Ala., with their six children
when the U.S. census of 1860 was taken.
