I am looking for Sandy. Dont know her last name. She was a sister to either Dean or Dino Carlisle (not sure of spelling of Carlisle) or his wife Balinda. Dino and Balinda were suppose to have been managers of an apartment complex in Bellflower, Ca. at least during the years of 1968 thru 1972. Sandy adopted a little girl that was born to Mary Lou Millard sometime between 1970 and 1972. I am looking for this little girl that she adopted. Her brothers would like very much to find her. Her father probably would have been Dwight Baker Trumbo. Dwight and Mary Lou were never married. I have a Linda M. Trumbo born 1972 in Los Angeles County, Ca. I have Teresa R. Millard born 1970 with mothers maiden name Millard. Either one may or may not be the one I am looking for. If anyone knows anything about any of these people, I would appreciate it very much if you would let me know. There was 3 brothers and this one sister and we have found the 3 brothers, so if we could find the sister it !
would certainly be a happy ending. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Peggy

"Fear of ridicule and an overwhelming concern for public opinion made people sensitive and touch. Neighbors seeking redress for slander crowded the courts; and guardians of public morals and peace exploited this extraordinary sensitivity in the punishments imposed. Since considerations of costs counted for more than the criminal's well-being, penalties humbled the transgressor and provided exemplary warning to others. Confinement in stocks, the pillory, or the ducking stool, in which the culprit was tied and plunged into water, exposed the individual to derision and contempt; branding marked the guilty with the symbol of crime for life. Newport, Rhode Island, in 1771 condemned the counterfeiter William Carlisle to stand for an hour in the pillory, have both ears cropped, and be branded on each cheek with the letter "R", in addition to a fine. The community readily heaped abuse upon such unfortunates - rotten eggs, stones, oyster shells, and bats flew freely."
I am not related to William, I am just passing on this information, which comes from a book titled "A Restless People" by Oscar & Lilian Handlin. 1982.
