Hello. :) My grandmother was Onie Lou Carlisle. She was born August 4, 1894 in Bivins, Texas, Cass County. Her dad was Georgia born. (came from Atlanta, Georgia). Her parents were James Benjamin Carlisle and Liza Smith. They married in Cass County October 16, 1885. Her grandparents were James Warner Carlisle son of William Carlisle and Elizabeth Margaret Chappelear daughter of Thomas J. Chappelear and Frances Cobb. I found James and Elizabeth on the 1860 Fulton County census. In 1880 they're on the Cass County (Texas) census. In 1900 James Benjamin Carlisle and Lisa are in Sabine Parish, La. with my grandmother and her family. I think they were farmers in their early days. Grandpa traveled anywere work was.
I still consider myself new at this. Have alot more to learn. Does this Carlisle branch match with your line?
Linda

This is a message that I emailed to Louvenis Solar--it came back undeliverable. Can anyone help? Could William Carlisle be his father??
Hello Louvenia,
I saw a post of yours on Genforum from about a year and a half ago. In the post you listed this name: James Jefferson Carlisle. I have a James Jefferson that I have been trying to track down and I was hoping that you could help me. Does any of this match your records?
James Jefferson b. abt. 1824 in Al., d. abt. 1870 in Crenshaw Co., Al.
He married: Eliza Merritt b. 1821 in NC, d.1860 in Covington Co., Al.
They had at least two children:
James Washington b. 5 MAR 1850, d. 24 APR 1930
La Vonia R. b. 25/26 JUL 1852
James Washington married Samantha Jane Gregg and LaVonia married Hirahm Gregg, Samantha’s brother.
Anything that you can help me with will be appreciated.
Thank you.
