I have Julius Quartus Carlisle b. 1798 Walpole, NH Was on the 1830 & 1840 censuses for Sheldon, Franklin Co, VT. The only child I have found for him so far is a daughter Jane b. abt 1832. From the census I'm betting there were others. He was the son of David Carlisle 1771 - 1835 and Abigail Stowell. There was also a second Carlisle family in Vermont at this time - descendants of William Carlisle that I think may end up being distant cousins. I don't have any of the other names you mentioned in my file.

I am a Carlisle from Michigan but none of these names are familiar to me. The Carlisle side of my family came from Ontario to St. Clair Co. sometime between 1861 and 1870. Do you know where in Michigan they settled?
