|||||||||| The "Carlins in Hollywood and the Performing Arts" webpage has
been updated and redesigned. It lists Carlin men and women who are actors on
stage and in the movies, including Aviva Jane Carlin, who recently starred
Off-Broadway in a one-woman play she wrote, "Jodie's Body," which won a
Drama Desk nomination. "Jodie's Body" is now on a national tour. URL is
http://attorney.carlin.net/carlin-entertainment.htm .
|||||||||| The "Carlin Artists, Writers and Photographers" webpage has also
been updated and redesigned. This page lists Carlin women and men who are
visual artists: painters, portraitists, miniaturist. It lists writers,
screenwriters and professional photographers, including Jocelyn Carlin, the
noted photogapher of New Zealand's coastline and people, whose third book of
photographs has just been published. URL is
http://attorney.carlin.net/carlin-photo.htm .
|||||||||| Speaking of New Zealand, we have pages covering Carlins who live
in Canada, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and Great Britain. The URLs
are:
for Canada:
http://www.attorney.carlin.net/carlin-canada.htm
for New Zealand:
http://attorney.carlin.net/carlin-newzealand.htm
for Australia:
http://attorney.carlin.net/carlin-australia.htm
for South Africa:
http://attorney.carlin.net/carlin-southafrica.htm
for Great Britain
http://attorney.carlin.net/carlin-uk.htm
For a webpage listing Carlins in British history, see:
http://attorney.carlin.net/carlin-uk-history.htm .
For a webpage listing Carlins in American history, see:
http://attorney.carlin.net/carlin-history.htm .
|||||||||| We have a webpage for Carlin veterans, located at
http://attorney.carlin.net/veterans.htm From this page, you can link to a
webpage for each American war; Carlins have been in the Armed Forces for
every American war, from the Revolutionary War to the Gulf War. Our Civil
War webpage lists more than 140 Carlins who served in that war, about half
for the Union, half for the Confederacy; the URL is
http://attorney.carlin.net/carlin-w-civil.htm . We also have a page
devoted to 10 Carlins who have earned the Purple Heart, and a webpage for
Carlins who've served in the Marine Corps. Semper fi!
|||||||||| There have been Carlins in law enforcement going back to the
times of the American Revolution, when a Carlin was the first sheriff of
Patrick County, VA, when that county was first formed. And today, Chris
Carlin is chief of police at Niagara Falls, NY. And Jim Carlin, a former
career police officer, has formed Boaters Against Drunk Driving (BADD), to
stop the injuries and deaths that result from drunk boating. We naturally
have created a "Carlins in Law Enforcement" webpage, listing past and
current police officers, police commanders, sheriffs and prosecutors. The
URL is
http://www.attorney.carlin.net/carlin-police.htm .
||||||||| We have a new webpage listing our online Carlin bios. As of
today, we have bios of Governor Thomas Carlin of Illinois (who served from
1838-42); Congressman C. C. Carlin of Virginia; Maj. Gen. William Passmore
Carlin, a graduate of West Point, class of 1850, and a Civil War hero of the
Battle of Bentonville; John Carlin, the noted mid-19th century miniaturist
(after whom Gallaudet University's Carlin Hall is named), and others. The
URL is
http://attorney.carlin.net/bios.htm
|||||||||| We have a revised, updated and redesigned webpage listing Carlin
men and women who are physicians, psychologists and dentists. The URL is
http://attorney.carlin.net/carlin-physicians.htm
|||||||||| There's a Carlin guy who's a senior writer for People magazine,
and a Carlin lady who writes a weekly genealogy column for The Joplin (MO)
Globe. There's a dean of journalism at a university in Toronto, and a
retired CPA who, way back when, was a sportswriter for The Brooklyn Eagle.
They're all journalists, and they're all Carlins. The URL is
http://www.attorney.carlin.net/carlin-journalism.htm
|||||||||| We've completely revised and updated the list of "Carlin cities
and sites" at
http://attorney.carlin.net/carlin-cities.htm Yes, of course
you already know about Carlin, Nevada, and about Carlinville, Illinois. But
do you know about Bayou Carlin in Louisiana, or about Carlin Point in
Louisiana, or about Carlin, South Dakota; or about the Emma F. Carlin
Environmental Trails in Wisconsin, or about Lake Carlin, or the Carlin
Peaks, or the Carlin Stream (actually a rivulet). We have Carlin towns,
hamlets, libraries, historic buildings, lakes and waterways. There's even a
Carlin Canyon in Alaska, named after a prospector named Carlin from the late
19th century.
|||||||||| And we have some good genealogical links, too! We have a page
listing Carlin genealogists,
http://attorney.carlin.net/carlin-genealogy.htm
. If you don't yet subscribe to Jim and Liz Carlin's CARLIN email list at
rootsweb.com, now's the time. Just go to
http://attorney.carlin.net/rootsweb.htm and sign up.
We've even created two indices to help Carlins find what they want at the
website. The overall index to the site is at
http://attorney.carlin.net/c-outline.htm . This webpage outlines and
categorizes our site and its more than 100 webpages. It's a very good place
to start if you're checking out the website. Of course, we also have our
main, homepage index at
http://attorney.carlin.net .
Please be sure to send in any new data or information that you have, so that
it can be published on the web a/s a/p. Thanks.
