Are there any CARLIN researchers who had ancestors in California during the
gold rush period?
My Cicely CARLIN by then married to Edmund CLARKE travelled to California
from Sydney, Australia with daughter Adelaide. Two more chn were born in
San Francisco, Edward ( born Flower Street, San Francisco) and Ellen c 1853,
1855.
The CARLINS had originated from Donaghmore, Co. Donegal coming to Australia
in 1838. Edmund and Cicely were in California from 1851 - 1860. It is
possible that Cicely travelled to California to visit other siblings whom
we cannot trace after their arrival in Australia.
After all that, I am looking for any trace in California ( 1850 - 1860) of
James b. c1824, Patrick b. c1831 and Michael b. c 1836 or their sisters
Nancy b. c1824, and Mary b. c 1832 , CARLIN. Parents of these chn were John
CARLIN a stonemason and either Ann or Mary ( nee SCANLON)
