Bayou Carlin, Louisiana:
http://www.CarlinArchives.com/bayoucarlin.htm
Bayou Carlin is just north of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, near the
Petit Anse and Tigre bayous. It's located slightly southeast of
Delcambre, LA, and slightly southwest of Avery Island, LA, home of
world-famous McIlhenny® Tabasco® sauce and McIlhenny® pepper spices.
The bayou passes through the Avery Island Oil Field.
Bayou Carlin was named for Joseph Carlin Jr., the sugarcane planter
and former French soldier and Spanish sergeant. Mr. Carlin owned most
of the land surrounding it and Bayou Petit Anse, and was the founder
of the vast generations of descendants popularly known as the
Louisiana Carlins.
Our Bayou Carlin webpage has been updated. We've also added space for
a small map to be added to the page, although the map hasn't yet been
posted.
