Hi, Judy.
You're in luck. We have a lot of information about Francois Carlin, his
posthumous daughter, Marie Therese, and Marie's descendants. It's on a
webpage titled "The Francois Carlin Family of Louisiana," and the URL is
http://www.carlinarchives.com/francois.htm .
I am utterly thrilled to hear from you, since we've been in the midst of
some confusion over the date of Francois' death and Marie's birth. Our
best efforts result in a date of 1776 (?), and we'd love to talk with
you about the records you've found to show a 1783 date of death for
Francois.
Our principal genealogical researcher on this family has been another
descendant of Marie Therese, Trevia Wooster Beverly of Houston, TX, who
is an experienced genealogist who has lectured extensively in the field.
Other data have come from Bob Carlin of Louisiana, a Carlin family
genealogist not related to Marie Therese.
Trevia's email address is trevia(a)CarlinArchives.com . Bob's is
downdabuy(a)aol.com .
I'd love to hear from you, and to add data about you and your immediate
ancestors to this webpage. I know that Trevia and Bob would love to hear
from you, too.

Subject: Francois Carlin
Would someone have information on Francois Carlin (1742-1783)?
His daughter was Marie Therese Carlin who married Pierre Bonvillion,
in
1794.
Marie was later legally adopted by Joseph Carlin Jr.
I would appreciate your help in this matter. Marie Therese was my 4th
great-grandmother.
