Carlins in New Zealand /
Aotearoa:
http://www.CarlinArchives.com/carlin-newzealand.htm
Catherine Shirley, a Carlin descendant in NZ and a genuine Kiwi, wrote
to me earlier about her genealogical heritage. This reminded me that
our "Carlins in NZ / Aotearoa" webpage was a bit out of date.
So the page has been updated, and it's been posted to the web. The
Carlin Family is still the first to be listed under "genealogy" in one
of the major NZ search engines. (Okay, you could, quite correctly,
point out that the Carlin name is not quite as well-known in NZ as,
say, Wellington... but then again, we've got a better webpage than the
Wellington family! <G> They have the city; we have the webpage. Who's
to say who's better off? <again, G>)
Are you aware of any Carlin Kiwis who aren't listed on this page?
Please let us know.
Do you have any additional information about any of those men and
women now listed? Again, please let us know.
Do you happen to know if any Carlins in NZ / Aotearoa are members of
Mensa? I'd like to add that inf. to our webpage if it's true.
BTW, if any NZ / Aotearoa Carlins are planning to attend the
Commonwealth Games in Manchester in 2002, please know that the Police
Superintendent in Manchester in charge of operations and planning for
the Commonwealth Games is John J. Carlin. He won't be able to greet
you personally during the games; athletes are coming from 74 nations.
But if you're around a few days after the games end, Superintendent
Carlin will be glad to invite you over for a glass of wine, or a game
of darts, or whatever it is one does while winding down from an event
such as this.
All the best,
Fred

I don't have a real NZ email address yet,
so for the moment, if you want to write to
me by email, use the Carlin Archives
address, above, or this quasi-NZ address:
