Dear Ranger Smith,
This is a brief note to thank you for checking out Carlin Gulch for me on your
topographical map, for confirming its existence, and for telling me so much
about it, and about Carlin Creek (which I'll now call "the creek that runs
through it."). I really appreciate the information you were able to obtain for
me, and also the fact that you did it so quickly.
I've put a brief few paragraphs about Carlin Gulch on our website, The Carlin
Archives Online, which lists Carlin cities and sites (such as Carlin, Nevada;
Carlinville, Illinois; Bayou Carlin, in southern Louisiana, etc.). The URL for
our Carlin Gulch information is
http://www.carlin.net/attorney/carlin-cities.htm#gulch.
When you have the time, please take a look at it, and let me know if I've
inadvertently made any errors in describing it. (BTW, I even quoted you in the
description -- when you said that it wasn't impossible to get to Carlin Creek
from the state road, but that it'd be pretty difficult. The way I figure it, if
it'd be "pretty difficult" for a USFS Ranger, then it'd be impossible
for the
rest of us!)
Thanks again.
