I've "rescued" an old photograph identified with the name B. F. UNSOLD
which
was taken at the Clark's Studio in Bolivar, OH. The photograph is of an
older woman, likely in her 60's or 70's and appears to have been taken in
the 1890's. In addition to the name, someone has also written "Cor Park &
4th" and "Bust Crayon" and what appears to be the word "Zoas".
Based on
this I'm guessing that this refers to an order for an additional Crayon
version of the photograph. With additional research I was able to find
information regarding the family as follows:
Benjamin Franklin UNSOLD (1860-1931) was the son of Daniel UNSOLD
(1835-1903) and Rachel ROSENBERGER (b. 18 Sept 1837-d. 15 May 1910). I'm
guessing that this is a photograph of Rachel ROSENBERGER UNSOLD. Rachel
died in Bolivar, OH and is buried at the Fort Laurens Cemetery in Bolivar,
OH along with her husband, son Benjamin, and daughter Elizabeth UNSOLD
CARLIN (1876-1942).
I'm hoping to locate someone from this family so that the photograph can be
returned to their care.
If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please
contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
