Arthur T. Barry of Staten Island, NY, was a New York City firefighter
who was assigned to Ladder Co. 15, based at 42 South Street,
Manhattan. This is only a few blocks from the World Trade Center, and
Ladder 15 was among the first companies to respond to the first
terrorist crash into Tower 2.
Tragically, Arthur died on Sept. 11 when the building he was in
collapsed. He had recently completed a 10,000-mile motorcycle trip
across Canada and Alaska.
Art Barry was descended, through his mother, from Thaddeus Carlin of
Staten Island,

The New York Times published a short profile of Art, which we've
reprinted on the web at
http://www.attorney.carlin.net/obits/arthurtbarry.htm . The NYC Fire
Department has a memorial webpage for Arthur Barry at

between "arthur" and "ff," etc.
He gave his life while trying to save others, as did the many other
firefighters and police officers who died in this barbaric attack. We
pray that his soul may rest in peace.
