Re: Charles Creighton Carlin

Charles C. Carlin was a U.S. Representative in Congress
from Alexandria, VA. He was a lawyer, and practiced in
Alexandria and later, after serving in Congress, in
Washington, DC. He was also postmaster of Alexandria
from 1893-97, and a delegate to the Democratic National
Conventions for more than 40 years.
He had been born at Alexandria, April 8, 1866, was
admitted to the bar in 1891, and died in Washington, DC,
Oct. 14, 1938. He is bur. at Ivy Hill Cemetery,
Alexandria.

Other than the information above, and some biographical
inforrmation from public records and the "Biographical
Directory of the American Congress," we know nothing
more about Congressman Carlin.
We have a decent career outline, but we have no family
information -- nothing about his parents, nothing about
whether he was married, nothing about whether he had
any children, etc.
I'd very much welcome any information about Rep.
Carlin that you may have, particularly with regard to his
family connection. Thank you.
